Hello! All of us at Praxis miss you and hope you’re staying safe and sane right now.
A few quick updates, with more to come soon:
- Our fabulous massage therapists are all staying home the next few weeks. We know you miss them, and we’ll send out an announcement when we know for sure what their return date will be.
- ONLINE APPOINTMENTS WITH ME ARE NOW AVAILABLE! We can talk on the phone or use a dedicated healthcare video chat service to discuss: ergonomics while working from home, a therapeutic home exercise program, self care tools to help you manage pain and stress, and much more. (Please book online, the same as you would an in-person visit, and select from one of the new online service options.)
- I am also coming into the office for chiropractic and acupuncture treatment for those in need, but have limited availability right now. I’ll be in on Wednesday this week, and as of right now, I’m planning on one or two days next week, depending on need.
- Additional precautions I’m taking to keep as all safe include: spacing out appointments so that patients don’t have to cross paths in the waiting room; sanitizing the door knobs, bathroom, waiting room and my office before and after every patient; taking everyone’s temp at the start of the appointment; and wearing a mask during your treatment.
- And COMING SOON–functional medicine approaches to STRESS and IMMUNE HEALTH!
On a personal note, some of you know we found out our dog had cancer just as the virus hit the U.S. Kopi had surgery March 18th. They got all of the tumor, and it is unlikely to spread. Great news! Since then, though, there have been several rounds of post-surgical complications. But (fingers crossed), the last intervention seems to be doing the trick, and she appears to have turned a corner in the last 2 days. So, we’re optimistic that she will fully recover. This is day 20 of wearing her cone, and she just accepts this “new normal” and goes about her business. She’s my resilience and adaptability guru!
I hope all of you are healthy and finding some successes as you also try to adapt to whatever this new reality is for you.
